The Coaching Disclaimer and Terms and Conditions outlined below define the relationship between Coach and Client and underpin any services delivered by Sarah Longfield. Please make sure you read the following carefully. If you have any questions or queries then please feel free to get in touch at [email protected].

COACHING DISCLAIMER

I understand that the coaching services I will be receiving from my Coach are not offered as a substitute for professional mental health care or medical care and are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any mental health or medical conditions. I also understand that my Coach is not acting as a mental health counsellor or a medical professional.

For legal purposes, I understand that coaching is currently an unregulated industry and that my Coach is not “licensed “ by any UK body even though the sessions may take place in the UK.

I understand and agree that I am fully responsible for my well-being during my coaching sessions, and subsequently, including my choices and decisions.

I understand that all comments and ideas offered by my Coach are solely for the purpose of aiding me in achieving the defined goals I create with my Coach. I have the ability to give my informed consent, and hereby give such consent to my coach to assist me in achieving such goals and understand that results are not guaranteed.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. DESCRIPTION

Coaching is a partnership (defined as an alliance, not a legal business partnership) between the Coach and the Client in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires the client to maximise personal and professional potential.

Coaching is a collaborative conversation that aims to help you gain clarity and insights. It is focused purely on your agenda. Coaching helps you discover the right way to progress, and by asking questions, helps you to find the right answers and take actions. Coaching is supportive and non-judgmental. You enter into coaching with the understanding that you are responsible for creating your own results.

  1. RESPONSIBILITIES

The Coach agrees to maintain the Code of Ethics and standards of behaviour set out by the International Federation of Coaching.

  1. SERVICES

The coaching schedule will be arranged between the Coach and the Client and can be booked either in advance or session by session.

The Coach will be available to the Client by e-mail and WhatsApp in between scheduled meetings as defined by the Coach. The Coach may also be available for additional time, per Client’s request on a prorated basis as defined by the Coach (for example, reviewing documents, reading or writing reports, engaging in other client related services outside of coaching hours).

  1. SCHEDULE AND FEES

The date the client signs up, is the first day of their coaching subscription, and will then be billed on a rolling basis, on that date, each calendar month until the client chooses to cancel.

A free half hour wrap-up session is offered at the point the client chooses to leave the service.

The service includes a one-hour 1-2-1 coaching session on zoom per month, access to the resource library, email or Whatsapp contact between sessions and the option to purchase discounted additional sessions within that month.

  1. PROCEDURE

The time of the coaching meetings and/or location will be determined by Coach and Client based on a mutually agreed upon time.

The Client may contact the Coach by WhatsApp or email between sessions to seek clarification regarding anything arising from a coaching session or for administrative purposes (e.g. where a client needs to rearrange a coaching session or make a payment).

  1. CONFIDENTIALITY

This coaching relationship, as well as all information (documented or verbal) that the Client shares with the Coach as part of this relationship, is bound to confidentiality by the ICF’s Code of Ethics, but is not considered a legally confidential relationship (like in Medicine or Law). The Coach agrees not to disclose any information pertaining to the Client without the Client’s written consent. The Coach will not disclose the Client’s name as a reference without the Client’s consent.

According to the ethics of our profession, topics may be anonymously and hypothetically shared with other coaching professionals for training, supervision, mentoring, evaluation, and further coach professional development and/or consultation purposes.

Sessions may be recorded for either professional development or at the Client’s request.  This will only happen when it is arranged in advance and there is explicit consent.

The Coach will sometimes make notes.  These will not have the name or contact details of the client on them, and will be around a client’s approach to a subject, not details of the subject itself.

If the client shares information where they declared they are abusing themselves or others, it is the coaches responsibility to break confidentiality and take action.  If the coach is required to testify in court where the client is accused of illegality, this break in confidentiality also applies.

  1. CANCELLATION AND LATENESS POLICY

The Client agrees that it is the Client’s responsibility to notify the Coach at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled call/meeting if the client cannot attend the session. If applicable, the Client will be billed for a missed session if the client does not turn up or hasn't rescheduled. The Coach will wait for 15 minutes, before the Client is noted as not turning up for the session.

  1. PAYMENT TERMS

Fees are payable in advance at the time of booking and only on receipt of payment in full is a booking confirmed unless otherwise agreed (Business Coaching may allow for payment on receipt of invoice). Where payment has not been received by the Coach in advance of a coaching session the Coach is not obliged to provide the session. Where payment is required on receipt of invoice rather than in advance, a charge may be levied for late payment.

Clients must book in their monthly session at least 5 days before the end of the month.  If they fail to do this, they lose their session for that month.

  1. REFUNDS

There are no refunds available on single sessions if cancelled within 24 hours of the session.

The client can cancel their subscription at any time and it will have immediate effect and no further services will be provided.  If they cancel on the day when the following month’s payment is taken, the client must contact the coach to arrange a manual refund.

  1. FEEDBACK

As part of the process, feedback is welcome.  The Coach may ask for a testimonial/feedback at intervals and at the end of working together.

  1. TERMINATION

Either the Client or the Coach may terminate this agreement at any time.
